Posted by admin in : Site Stuff , trackbackAs was usual with our previous host, Site5, a spike in traffic would cause our sites to go down. According to Site5, we had “outgrown shared hosting” and needed to move to a “dedicated solution”.
That we have.
Welcome to the new server. BDGamer, BDcomics, as well as other upcoming sites in the network, are now hosted by JaguarPC, using their semi-dedicated package. The sites will now run much faster, more efficiently, and most importantly, will be able to handle traffic spikes much better. No sudden site shutdowns anymore.
If you have visited the above mentioned host’s site, you might have seen that it now costs us $30 per month to keep the site up and running, without counting the man hours put into it. It is not financially viable for us to pay such amounts to keep sites such as BDcomics running. Therefore, we ask you to click on banner ads that you find relevant once in a while, just to cover our hosting costs a bit. We’re looking into alternatives, and it does not involve donations. More details will be announced in the near future… along with a brand new spanking custom design!
