This is a really good Punisher story…MUCH better than the Naughty/Nice X-Mas Special, IMO…
It’s no Garth Ennis, but approaches that caliber…This is, however, an actual FUNNY Punisher story. Not just the dark, macabre humor: “OMG! He did them like THAT?!”, but actual jokey-jokes and one liners - but, and this is important - it’s still VERY true to the Frank Castle (v5) we all know and love…That is, the jokes don’t feel out of place here…The dark macabre humor is still here, but punctuated with funny stuff.
A nice (first?) effort from the team of Diggle/Hotz - I’d like to see more Punisher one-shots by them…
Still waiting on Tim Bradstreet to do an entire issue, and not limit himself to covers….
(**Disclaimer: I didn’t notice when reading the comic, but I sure did when scanning: the majority of these pages are set up with slanted panels - I do my rotations based on the outside page edges. I coulda fixed the slants, but did not - if the artist wants stuff at an angle, that’s how I’m gonna output it…)
