X-Men: True Friends July 31, 2006

Posted by BDcomics in : Comics ,

Trying to get away from Excalibur for some time, Kitty has booked a holiday in the Scottish highlands, with Phoenix tagging along. The two girls have an argument about Rachel always cramping Kitty’s style, while standing in a strange stone circle, and, as Rachel’s power flares up, it mixes with some local magical energy and the two girls are sent back to the past. Witnessing an awful ceremony, Kitty flees in panic and almost is hit by a car. She awakes in the home of Alasdhair Kinross and, with his help and that of his young cousin, Lilibet, starts looking for Rachel. It is only the presence of Nazis that makes her realize that she and Rachel have been thrown back to the 1930ies.

Karnaphuli River after sunsen

I’m sorry I haven’t been posting for a few days, especially when all you guys are mailing me such amazing comics. I’m on an weeklong trip to the hill tracts and seaside areas of my country, just chilling out and doing crazy amounts of photography.

I won’t be back in my home city till 22nd, so I’ll start posting again from 23rd.

In the mean time, go ahead and actually read some of the comics you’ve downloaded over the recent months. Or you can always check out my photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/niloy/

25 Great Calvin & Hobbes Strips July 14, 2006

Posted by BDcomics in : Random cool stuff ,

Hundreds of comic strips have been published in newspapers. The majority are terrible, and almost all the rest are mediocre. There have been maybe four or five good comic strips in the history of the world. So saying that Calvin & Hobbes is the best comic strip ever doesn’t really hold a lot of weight.

And it’s really a shame that it’s so difficult to quantify this strip’s greatness. I can confidently state that Calvin & Hobbes outclasses the rest of the comic strip world more than anything else has ever outclassed the rest of its medium. Sans this strip, the industry is characterized by guys sitting on rocks making stupid puns, a Family Circus kid misunderstanding the meaning of a word, or an overweight father playing golf while telling jokes such as I LIKE GOLF and GOLF IS HARD. It’s a medium that doesn’t really deserve something as good as Calvin & Hobbes, but it got it anyway, and the newspaper-reading world was made a better place by it.

I had the entire Calvin and Hobbes collection here in BDcomics. But the links all died. I’ll try to find newer links. For now, check this out. :)

The Best Comic in the Universe July 14, 2006

That’s right assholes, the best comic in the universe is finally here. Many of you doubted me when I first announced it; you said I couldn’t fit this much crotch rockage into a comic. As always, I’m right and you’re all idiots for doubting me.

The comic is 38 pages long; unlike most shitty 22-page main stream comics out there, this is 38 pages of full content–NO ADS. The comic has glossy paper, full color front and back covers, black and white inside. Get some tissue paper ready, because here’s a sample of the ball stompage you’ll find within:
